Aquatic Physio-Therapeutic Underwater Treadmill for Dogs

The hydrotherapy as part of the physiotherapy is used for the treatment of diseases and impairments in the musculoskeletal system with muscles, tendons, ligaments, bones and joints as well as rehabilitation after surgery. The treatment with water is effective and gentle because the buoyancy reduces the dead weight in the water and at the same time the training effects are increased by the pressure of the water.

Advantages of the Aqua-Therapy Basin

This new therapeutic basin is a medical appliance for the treatment of injuries and diseases in the musculoskeletal system of dogs.

The therapeutic basin can be installed in any veterinarian practice without additional constructive changes. With its small dimensions it fits through all types of standard entrance and room doors. For its installation a floor space of approx. 2 sqms is required. Owing to its low weight (basic weight 100 kgs, water-filled 500 kgs) no static problems of the building should occur. It requires a common 230 V wall socket power outlet. Mains water supply and waste water piping of any kind must exist. Use, cleaning and maintenance are very simple and can be done by the medical staff. The operational costs are extremely low. The water (max. 400 liters) is cleaned by filters and can be recycled for many treatments. The dogs can enter and exit out of the basin comfortably through the watertight, lockable front door.

Where is the difference?

The therapeutic basins which are already available from competitors serve the same purpose. However, they require a lot of floor space and/or have a very complex mechanical design which leads to a variety of problems for the user in respect of handling, hygiene and maintenance.

This therapeutic basin consists of two tanks: one water reservoir and one therapy basin with integrated treadmill which are connected to each other by a powerful pump. This allows the water level to be adjusted in a short period of time according to the individual animal size. No complex mechanical lifting device is required. The capacity of the water reservoir is 400 liters. The basin has a very low permanent weight and can be operated with a relatively small amount of water, as the treadmill is flat and located directly on the bottom of the basin. The technical design allows for easy one- grip removal or maintenance of the treadmill without having to loosen screws or mountings. The pump is equipped with a dirt filter which filters hair and other particles up to 50 µ from the water.
